The Best weekend

I had an awesome weekend. I could leave this post as that, but you 5 readers would wonder why.
Friday, my wife and I had some time alone, without the kids. Don't get me wrong, but as parents know, you just need that alone time with the spouse. We hit a mexican place for dinner. Then some errand shopping. That may not sound like much to some. However, I actually enjoy this quite time in the store with my wife. She and I go off to simply look at those things we want to see, without the feeling of a deadling of in and out.
Saturday, I grabbed a big cookie from the Cookie company for both our dads (and me). Kel cooked on the grill, ect for the dads. Before everyone came over Saturday evening, the family played in our pool. I had a blast, trying to play basketball in the pool. It came to no rules and basically a free-for-all. The food was excellent and it was a nice time with everyone.
Sunday morning we hit church. During church, there was a special service provided for dads. At the end of the service, the pastor had all dads come up to the front with their daughters. He had his own daughter on the stage and sang "Cinderella", by Steven Curtis Chapman. It was an emotional time.
Afterwards, we grabbed KFC (rarely do) on the way home. We watched Nascar and the kids took me out to a movie. We watched Nim's Island at the dollar matinee. It was a really cute movie.
All in all, a very cool weekend. Much appreciated.
